SUNWAYFOTO spherical plain bearings are ellipsoidal in shape but with minimal deformation in relation to the sphere. The explanation is as follows:
Most of the spherical plain bearings sold today have a Y-axis with a diameter larger than the X-axis by approximately 0.07mm. The advantage of this is that it allows the spherical plain bearing to offer more lateral resistance, which avoids the risk of a sudden fall to the side.
SUNWAYFOTO's solution is to reduce this increase in X-axis diameter by only 0.03mm. This makes the handling smoother while maintaining the above mentioned advantage.
      
SUNWAYFOTO maintains the manufacture of its spherical plain bearings using only metals for the controls which not only offers softness in the handling but also allows to increase the reliability and durability against the use of plastic or elastic materials.
 
The FB series is compared with the DB series as follows:
Features eliminated:
1. Instead of two slots, it is manufactured with only one slot (for vertical shots);
2. No scale on the main locking handle;
3. Weight reduction of about 65g;
4. Reduction of the diameter of the panoramic base by 7mm
5. Reduction of height by 2mm;
 
Added features:
1. Ball joint locking force increased by 20%;
2. Panoramic rotation locking force increased by 50%;
3. Removable and repositionable spirit levels;
