This simple adapter allows the use of M42 thread lenses on your Nikon camera. 

As the distance between the image plane and the lens mount is smaller on the M42 cameras, this device incorporates a correction lens allowing you to focus to infinity without problems.  The adapter increases the focal length as a tele converter to 1.25x.

M42-AI(With Optic Glass) adapter is designed for Screw Mount M42 Lens to NIKON AI Camera Body. With this adapter ring, although the lens will fit phsically, automatic diaphragm, auto-focusing, or any other function will not work. You can shoot with manual mode with Nikon Camera.

It is an accessory that adapts the mounts from a mechanical and optical point of view. Any automatic feature that requires an electronic connection between the lens and the body is not possible.  There are still many good quality M42 thread lenses and brand devices that deserve to be used with Nikon cameras.
